Sharon Ann Bentley

Sharon Ann Bentley (nee Corman) died peacefully surrounded by her family at home on July 21, 2016 in Toms Brook, VA at the age of 71.

Sharon is survived and will be greatly missed by her sons, Michael W. Garrison of Charles Town, WV, Craig W. Garrison, Sr. of Toms Brook, VA, and Dean F. Bentley of Fountain Hills, AZ; sister, Nancy Glorius of Maryland, her 6 grandchildren, Hannah Garrison, Courtney Garrison, Craig W. Garrison, Jr., Cecilia Garrison, Dion F Bentley, and Marcus Bentley, and her special friend, Dion F. T. Bentley.  She is preceded in death by her father Gilbert Corman and her beloved mother Edna Jones Corman.

Sharon was born on August 26, 1944 in Washington, DC.  After living in Albuquerque, NM and England, she eventually settled into Shenandoah County, VA, where she made career as a bookkeeper for Shenandoah County Public Schools.  Sharon loved her work and enjoyed helping the children and their parents.  She was an animal lover and shared her home with several small breed dogs over the years.  Her loyal companion, Wilhelmina, was at her side throughout her last illness and death.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter at 268 Landfill Rd, Edinburg, VA  22824.  The family would like to thank the staff at Winchester Medical Center CCU and Blue Ridge Hospice for their gentle, kind, and excellent assistance during Sharon’s final days.  The family would also like to thank the staff at Highlander Family Medicine for their dedication and loving care over the past years.
