Shirley Baker

Shirley Baker, 88 of Mt. Jackson, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Baker was born December 21, 1926, daughter of the late Oliver Edward and Bertie Ellen Hepner Funkhouser.

She was a licensed beautician and provided services for over 67 years.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Basye and attended Woodstock United Methodist Church.

She has been married to her loving husband, Guy Austin Baker for 57 years.

She is also survived by two sisters, Mildred Kohlmann of Houston, Texas and Doris (Millson) French  of Woodstock; a sister-in-law, Mildred Bowman of Timberville and a brother-in-law, Ray (Dot) Baker of Mt. Jackson and numerous loving relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson  with the Rev. Robert Hoskins, Jr.  officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Jackson Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve French, Millson French, Charles French, Steve Baker, Greg Lambert, Ben Freakley, David Bowman and Sonny Hovatter.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
