Thelma Irene Frye Showman, 89, of Woodstock died Wednesday, January 14, 2015. She was born May 10, 1925 in Woodstock, daughter of the late Andrew and Minnie Coffman Frye. She was married to the late, Narval Showman and later Ralph Rhinehart who also predeceased her. She had one brother, the late, Frederick Frye.
Thelma is survived by two daughters, Emma Lou Knicely (David) of Winchester and Nancy Drescher (John) of Jarrettsville, MD; three sons, Geary (Ethel), Ray (Pat) and Dennis Showman all of Woodstock; step-son, David Rhinehart (Judy), nine grandchildren, one step-grandson, nine great- grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She was a life-long member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she played the organ, cared for the altar along with many other contributions. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by each and every one of them for her gentle and loving heart.
The funeral will be held Sunday, January 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Reverend Nathan Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great- grandsons: Adam Drescher III, Nathan Drescher, Keith Showman, Daniel Showman, Deric Showman, Anthony Rhinehart, David Scott, Mason Myrtle and Tanner Myrtle.
