Trescea Helen Bowers Wright

Trescea Helen Bowers Wright, “Tee-Tee”, “Aunt Trescea”,  99 peacefully left this world on Dec. 22, 2014 at Shenandoah  Memorial  Hospital. First born of 5 to Albert Cornelius and Ida Good Bowers on September 11, 1915, Trescea lived the majority of her years in Shen. Co. First husband Stanley Bowers and second husband Ford Wright both predeceased her.

Blessed with good health until recently, Trescea kept busy at home sewing, tending wood stoves for heat, doing yard work, caring for chickens and all her kitty cats. Over the years she worked at Woodstock Blue Bell, middle of town garment factory and as a personal caregiver.

Trescea had one son Gary Bowers. She lovingly helped him care for his two sons Tim and Jeff when their mother Helen died at a young age. Gary died in 2013 as did his second wife Mary.

Grandsons Tim Bowers and Jeff Bowers survive. They reside in Florida. Great-grand children Jeff, Kimberly and Erica live on as well as siblings Alfred Bowers and Belva Guard of Woodstock. Other surviving relatives are step-daughter Cindy Wright of Maurertown, niece Diane Ackerman (Scott) of Utah, nephew Wayne Bowers (Debbie) of Woodstock and niece Ellen Bowers of Maurertown. Great-nephews Jason, Adam (Megan), Aaron (Jessica) and Alan Bowers loved her. Great-niece Connie Morris (Matt) did too. There are 2 great-great nephews Trevor & Dakota Morris and 2 great-great nieces Abby & Payton Bowers.

Other significant relatives lost during her lifetime were 2 siblings Vallie Tevalt and Fulton Bowers; 3 nephews, 2 brothers-in law and 2 sisters-in-law.

In 99 years Aunt Trescea witnessed and lived American History-electricity, cars, wars, medical advances, technology.

Pallbearers will be: Tim Bowers, Jeff Bowers, Bobby Ryan, Kenny Hamrick, Jason Bowers and Garlan Gochenour.

Services will be Tuesday Dec. 30 at Valley Pike Church of the Brethren. Family will greet friends at 1 p.m. with service to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be St. Johns Cemetery in Harrisville. Pastor Jonathan Fletcher and Reverend Robert Hoskins will officiate.
