Vincent George Stransky, Jr., 93 of Edinburg passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at Greenfield of Woodstock. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church. Father Edward Bryce will officiate Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens.
Vincent was born September 19, 1924 in Washington D.C. He was the son of the late Vincent and Ora Compton Stransky, Sr. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business and Public Administration from the University of Maryland. He served during WWII in The United States Navy. He was involved in multiple industries and culminated in co owning his own electronics firm. He retired from active participation in business to try his hand at cattle ranching. The farm, traveling and hunting were his passions along with his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Turner Stransky; a daughter, Beth Farias and a son-in-law, Ray Farias. He loved hunting and spending time in God’s creation.
Vincent is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan Bryce Stransky; 2 sons, Robert Vincent Stransky and wife Linda of Midlothian, Va. and Douglas John Stransky and wife Gillian of Fredericksburg, Va.; 1 daughter, Dana Stransky Cook and husband Tim of Fredericksburg, Va.; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lillian Bohannan and husband Bo of Gales Ferry Ct. and Evelyn Kaczmar and husband Greg of Hanover, Md. and 1 brother Robert Stransky of Sharpsburg Md.
The family will receive friends Sunday February 11 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
