Virgie Rebecca Barrick Andrick

Virgie Rebecca Barrick Andrick, 96, of Woodstock, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Greenfield of Woodstock.  The funeral service will be held Friday, March 27, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at First Church of Columbia Furnace.  Reverends Brian Duncan and Robert Berghuis will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Andrick was born October 22, 1918 in Columbia Furnace, daughter of the late George Arthur Barrick and Annie Rebecca Markley Barrick.  She was formerly employed with Bowman Apple in Mt. Jackson and privately worked in home health care.  She was an honorary member of First Church of Columbia Furnace and Columbia Furnace United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett E. Andrick, six brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Andrick Dennis and husband Carl of Marshall, VA; four grandchildren, Heather Rebecca Sites of Mt. Jackson, Katrina Marie Bauserman of Mt. Jackson, Stephanie Dawn Jenkins of Strasburg and Pamela Sites of Mt. Jackson; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Shenandoah County, P.O. Box 173, Woodstock, VA 22664 or the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter, 268 Landfill Road, Edinburg, VA 22824.

    Such a lovely lady. I always enjoyed visiting Miss Virgie with my mom, Fern (Polk) Ryman. She always had good stories to tell, and kept up with what was going on Iin the community. I know her family and many friends will miss her dearly. God bless.
