Virginia May Pence

Virginia May Pence, 89, formerly of Edinburg, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Whispering Pines in Luray.  The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.  Reverend Bill Garber will officiate.  Burial will follow in Columbia Furnace Cemetery in Edinburg.

Mrs. Pence was born December 11, 1925 in Edinburg, daughter of the late John Luther Fadley and Fannie George Fadley.  She was a graduate of Edinburg High School and Eve Palmer’s Business School.  She formerly worked at Blue Bell, Aileen and as an operator for Shentel.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Isaac Pence.  She is survived by her son, John F. Pence of Edinburg.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Polk, Charles Phillips, Pat Riffey, Meredith Sine, Jason Strosnider and Steve Bradfield.

Honorary pallbearers will be past and present administration and staff of Whispering Pines.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30-2:00 at the funeral home.

    Johnny: I’m so sorry to hear about your mother. She was such a sweet lady when she came into the store. I know you have had a long road to travel in caring for her. After having lost both my parents, I know that you will always miss her but the memories will be sweet.
