W. Kenneth Wright

W. Kenneth Wright, 72, of Woodstock, passed away Monday, September 09, 2013 at his home.  A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church at Fairview (west of Woodstock).  Pastor Joe Fleming will officiate.

Mr. Wright was born August 11, 1941 at Sibley Hospital in Washington, DC, son of the late Stanley C. Wright Sr. and Estelle Edenton Wright. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Phyllis Seal Wright; two daughters, Mary Ellen Bosley and husband Jerry of Uniontown, PA and Melissa Wright of St. Luke; two grandsons, Ryan Thorn and wife Bailey of Waynesburg, PA and Benjamin Wright Thorn and wife Jessica of Amity, PA; brother, Stanley C. Wright and wife Jean; a special niece, Melody Nixon and family and nephew, Casey Wright.  He was preceded in death by a son, Martin Allen Wright; sister, Donna Showman and stepfather, William Ferguson.

Kenny’s Love of Life was family and faith. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and honored to be a trustee.  He loved farming and traveling with family.  He was a veteran of the US Army and an USDA inspector for 30 years.  He also enjoyed and met many nice people in his clock repair business.

A Masonic service will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.  The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery Fund, c/o David Rhinehart, 2707 Back Road, Woodstock, VA 22664.

    I am so sorry to hear of Kenny’s death, and yet heaven gains a wonderful person! I remember how he helped my mom, Mary Derflinger, when Cecil died. Kenny went out of his way to help mom and I will always be forever grateful. What a blessing he was!!
