William David Hollar, 91 of Woodstock passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Harrisonburg. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Woodstock United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M. Reverend Robert Throckmorton and Reverend Robert Hoskins Jr. will officiate. Burial will be private.
Bill was born October 18, 1924 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Albert and Catherine Fadely Hollar. A 1942 graduate of Edinburg High School, Bill served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from Muhlenberg Motors in 1986 where he worked as an Auto Sales and Services Manager. Bill was a member of the Woodstock Rotary Club and was a past President and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a member of the Woodstock United Methodist Church. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeane W. Hollar and a son, W.D. Hollar II.
Bill is survived by his second wife, Betty Wolverton; a daughter, Suzanne Bowes and husband Daniel of Woodbridge, Virginia; a son Kirk Alan Hollar and wife Belynne of Broadway, Virginia; 7 grandchildren: Cobie, Kyla, Marcy, Brian, Lauren, Tristan, and Desiree and 5 great grandchildren: Sean, Kyra, Aiden, Selah, and Cora.
