William Edgar Hansberger, Sr.

William Edgar Hansberger, Sr., 80, of Basye, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Hansberger was born June 12, 1931 in Basye, son of the late James and Daisy Florence Ryman Hansberger.

He was a carpenter and mason at Scripture Building Corp. in Basye and was a member of Trinity Powder Springs United Church of Christ in Basye.

He is survived by three daughters, Lisa Fleming and husband John of Mt. Jackson, Lorrie Hansberger of Basye and Pamela Landacre and husband Dustin of Baker, West Virginia; two sons, William “Billy” Hansberger, Jr. and fiancé, Pam of Basye and Jeff  Hansberger of Winchester; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Trinity Powder Springs United Church of Christ with the Rev. John H. Ware officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andy Barrick, Daniel Painter, Chris Barb, Robert Barb, Paul Nesselrodt and Edward Nesselrodt; Honorary Pallbearers will be Donnie Custer and Lee Whitmer.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson.
