Wilma Ruth Miller Ludwig

Wilma Ruth Miller Ludwig, 87, of Toms Brook, Virginia departed this life with family members by her side, on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Consulate Care of Woodstock.

Mrs. Ludwig was born on March 21, 1925 in Jerome, Virginia, daughter of the late Charles Grandville and Bertie Miller.

She is survived by three sons, Merlyn Ludwig and wife Nancy, of Edinburg, Glenn Ludwig and wife Linda, of Fishers Hill, and Elwood Ludwig, Jr. and wife Leslie of Stanley, VA; six daughters, Jerri Lippert and husband Dave of Front Royal, Wanda Rinker and husband Robert of Toms Brook, Judy Tharp of Edinburg, Wilma Reynolds and husband Ronald of Maurertown, Naomi Wine and husband Donnie of Woodstock, and Debra Hodgson and husband Roy Lee of Bunker Hill, WV.  Two daughters, Joan Campbell and Linda Herald predeceased her.

She was a wonderful mother and devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ludwig had the following grandchildren:  Leslie Ludwig, Wade Ludwig, Brian Ludwig, Roy McClanahan, Troy McClanahan, Theresa Lippert; Cathy Hottle, Tracey Ludwig, Lisa Galanis, Rhonda Funkhouser, Roberta Rinker, John Reynolds, Jeanette Reynolds, Brett Wine, Sarah Wine, Tessa Hodgson, Baylee Hodgson, Jason Ludwig, Faith Ludwig and Brooke Ludwig.  Three granddaughters, Jaime Ludwig Walters, Lori Ann Ludwig and Bobbi Jo Campbell predeceased her, and also two grandsons, Stacey Ludwig and Roger Dale Herald, Jr.

Surviving also are 37 great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.  She is survived by two sisters:  Clara Kohne and O’dessa Lutz, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Headquarters Road, Edinburg, Virginia, with Pastor Katie Gosswein and Pastor John F. Taylor Jr.  officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Leslie Ludwig, Wade Ludwig, Brian Ludwig, John Reynolds, Tracey Ludwig and Troy McClanahan.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m at Dellinger’s Funeral Home in Woodstock, VA.
