Betty Barb Obituary
Betty Lou Barb, 83 of Orkney Springs passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, at her home. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Trinity United Church of Christ. Pastor Steve Wood will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Betty was born on March 11, 1939, in Shenandoah County and was the daughter of the late John and Helen Donovan Bowers. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, she was a housekeeper, she loved playing bingo when her health was better, she also loved having all the family together for holiday meals. She enjoyed talking with her friends on the phone, and stopping by to visit her. She was always there for her family and friends. She will be missed dearly by her family and her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Dorman Odell Barb and a half-brother, Sidney Markley.
She is survived by 2 sons, Roger Lee Bowers and Henry O. Barb, 4 grandchildren, James Bowers, Jessica Ward, Madison and William Barb, 3 great grandchildren and 2 half sisters, Gladys Heneger and Nancy Shewbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Orkney/Basye Rescue Squad P.O Box 68 Basye, Virginia 22810.
