Donald Dellinger Obituary

Donald Eugene Dellinger, 87, of Mt. Jackson, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.
Mr. Dellinger was born June 24, 1931 in Mt. Jackson, son of the late Paul Eugene and Della Irene Hepner Dellinger. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a former employee of Virginia Department of Transportation and was a beef farmer. He was a member of St. Mary's (Pine) Lutheran Church in Mt. Jackson. He was also a member of the West Shenandoah Ruritan Club, V.F.W. # 2447 Edinburg, Muhlenberg Post # 199 American Legion Woodstock and Mt. Jackson Masonic Lodge # 103 A.F. & A.M.
He is survived by his wife Kathie W. Dellinger whom he married May 4, 1962. Also surviving are a daughter, Natalie (Curtis) Roy of Mt. Jackson; a son Eugene (Susan) B. Dellinger of Mt. Jackson; and two grandchildren, Paul (Ariel) Dellinger and Zachary Roy all of Mt. Jackson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's (Pine) Lutheran Church with the Rev. Karen Van Stee officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Jackson Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Estep, Steve Weaver, Jr., Douglas Estep II, Lenord Wilkins, Joedy Sheets and Jamie Thomas.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's (Pine) Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 43, Mt. Jackson or the Mt. Jackson Rescue and Fire Department, P.O. Box 251, Mt. Jackson.
