Donald Rinker Obituary
Donald Rinker, 85, of Toms Brook went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2016 at Dutch Haven, Morning Glory in Maurertown. The funeral will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Pike Church of the Brethren. Reverend Bill Garber will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Rinker was born April 19, 1930 in Shenandoah County, son of the late Sarah Kohne Rinker and Filmore Rinker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grethel Rinker, his parents, five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Ret. SSG. Robert and Wanda Rinker of Toms Brook, VA and Danny and Andrea Rinker of New Market, VA; grandchildren, Roberta Rinker of Silver Spring, MD, Stacey Rinker of Mt. Jackson and, Chris Rinker of New Market; eight great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Compton of Woodstock.
Donald was a member of Valley Pike Church of the Brethren and attended every Sunday and helped with whatever he could. He was employed at Aileen Inc., Walt Smith Const. and later years he operated his own construction company, doing remodeling work in Shenandoah County.
Pallbearers will be Steve Rinker, Lloyd Click, Dave Burrows, Bill Shrum, Irvin Holler, Mike Farley, Mark Bucher.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Toms Brook Volunteer Fire Department or Valley Pike Church Cemetery Fund, C/o Terry Seal, 2114 Fairview Road, Woodstock, VA 22664.
