Donna Marie Babcock Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Donna Marie Williams Babcock, 56, of Woodstock, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022, in the care of Blue Ridge Hospice. Donna was the oldest daughter of Judy Simmons (Roger) and Charles Williams (Kathy), born on May 30, 1966, in Winchester, Virginia. Along with her parents, she is survived by her loving husband Joe Babcock; son Hunter Babcock (Megan) of Texas; daughter Megan Babcock of Woodstock; sister Darlene Ryman (Chris); brother Chuck Williams of Strasburg; brothers-in-law Brian (Samantha) Babcock of Gardner, North Carolina; and Scott (Amy) Babcock of Woodstock; grandson Jackson Babcock; step sister Kim Sibert ( Scott) and nieces Brooke, Hannah, Abby, Kendall Ryman Bailey Babcock, Jenna Babcock, Kendra Wright, Khloe Marston, and nephew Jacob Wright. Donna graduated from Central High School in 1984. While attending high school, Donna participated in multiple sports including being a member of Central’s first softball team. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Salem College of Salem, West Virginia. While attending Salem, she continued to play softball and volleyball. After teaching over 30 years, Donna recently retired from Shenandoah County Public Schools. Her passion for teaching positively impacted students and coworkers at Woodstock Middle School, Peter Muhlenberg Middle School, and W. W. Robinson Elementary School. Donna’s love of sports continued throughout her career as she could be found in the gym coaching middle school volleyball or on the softball field announcing Little League and Central High School ball games. To say that Donna left a lasting legacy would be an understatement. “Queen B’s” positive attitude, sense of humor, and zest for life will continue through the lives of her family and many friends she leaves behind. Donna was a member of Antioch Church and served the church in many capacities including Youth Leader, Sunday School teacher and Bible School Coordinator. Her faith remained strong as she kept her eyes on God throughout her well fought battle with cancer and that faith will continue to inspire those who are facing struggles and adversity in their lives. A Celebration of Life led by Pastor George Bowers is planned for Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 11am at Antioch Church. Meal to follow.
