Eugene Fadeley Golliday, Sr., 88 of Toms Brook passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at his home. He chose Valentine's Day to join his wife in Heaven. The graveside service will be private with Pastor Todd Crowder officiating. Ronnie Miller, Daren Pingly, Shaun Wymer, Kenneth Wymer and Richard Seiler will serve as pallbearers. Friends and family may come by Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock to pay their respects and sign the book on Thursday and Friday from 9-5 pm and Saturday from 9-12 pm.
Eugene was born on January 27, 1933 and was the son of the late Cecil Franklin and Ruby Irene Fadeley Golliday. He attended school in Mt. Jackson. Eugene was a lifelong truck driver, working for Veherencamps and Smith Transfer. He also worked for Northern Virginia Cigarette Company. Later, he and his brother Richard went into business together creating Golliday Brothers Trucking. They hauled sand and gravel to many construction sites throughout the valley.
Eugene married Betty J. Whittington on June 22, 1963. They settled in Edinburg and built a new home in Toms Brook in 1977.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and his wife who passed away in 1991.
Eugene is survived by his son Eugene Golliday, Jr; his 3 daughters, Barbara Beydler, Connie Barton, and Debbie Winkfield (Jay); 4 grandchildren, Courtney Erin McFarland, Adam Barton, Alicia Beydler, and Amanda Beydler; 1 great grandson, Sawyer Wymer and 2 brothers, Richard, and Jerry Golliday and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice 333 West Cork Street Winchester, Virginia 22601.
