Judy Lindamood, 80, of Main Street Edinburg, widow of the late Samuel A. Lindamood passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021, at her home.
Mrs. Lindamood was born near Mt. Jackson on December 17, 1940. She was a daughter of the late Courtland Lee and Ruby May Collins Polk. A graveside service for Mrs. Lindamood will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday July 17, 2021, in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens West of Mt. Jackson. Reverend Stephanie Heishman-Litten will officiate.
Mrs. Lindamood attended school in Edinburg and was graduated as Valedictorian of the last graduating class of Edinburg High School.
Some of her many interests were crocheting, making her ginger cookies, daily phone calls with family and friends, keeping up with current events, and reading the local newspaper back to front to start her day.
On June 14, 1959, Judy married Sam. They were together for 50 years and 2 days until his death of leukemia on June 16, 2009. Their two children Sam Jr. and Laura May are both deceased as is Mrs. Lindamood' s youngest brother C. Lee Polk Jr.
Surviving is sisters Goldie E. Rose (Bill/Glen) of Mt. Jackson, and Pauline "Penny" N Coleman (Jerry/Dwayne) of Woodstock, and a brother Noah L. Polk (Linda) of Gloucester, VA She also leaves many nieces and nephews and Scarlet Dysart Keeton. This special young woman was the light of Judy and Sam's life. They liked her very much and she became their granddaughter forever.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, any donations be made to your local fire department, rescue squad, or a favorite charity.
Visitation and fellowship will follow the service at the Woodstock Rescue Squad lower level.
