Bill was a member of First Church of Columbia Furnace in Edinburg, VA. Bill centered his life around his faith in God and love of family. He married his true love 64 years ago and always said God meant for them to be together. They went onto have two daughters, two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Bill owned and operated Groves Used Cars and Automotive Repair Shop with his wife, Peggy, for 34 years. Bill and Peggy always appreciated and felt truly blessed by the loyalty of their customers throughout those years. At the age of 53, Bill retired to the farm in Ridge Hollow to do what he loved with his son in law, Wayne, by his side. He then shared that love of farming with his grandson Jeremy and they worked the farm together up until the last 3 years. These last 3 years Bill has closely supervised from the porch as Jeremy carries his legacy on with the great grandchildren. Bill always wanted to make sure his daughters and grandchildren would have a place at the farm. Bill’s other love was hunting and it wasn’t much that would keep him from it. Up to the age of 82 you still could not keep up with him in the mountain. The love of hunting is something he also shared with his family. Bill always said his “cup runneth over with the blessings of God, love of his wife and support of his family”. The family feels truly honored to have been able to keep him at home in these last days and care for him as he cared for them always. Survived by his wife, Peggy Sine Grove, married 64 years.
