Madolyn Lee("Pat") Doss,81, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 17,2021.
She was born on July 31, 1939, in Winchester, Virginia, the only child of Homer M. Golladay and Madeline Hite Golladay. Upon the death of her mother, she was raised by her maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Hite, of Woodstock. She graduated from Woodstock High School and Madison College.
Her love of music led her to a career teaching music in the Shenandoah County Elementary Schools for many years. She was an incredibly talented pianist and organist and often played for services in her Church. She married the love of her life, Jerry M. She was a faithful and devoted member of Grace Baptist Church, where she participated in many activities of the Church. She sang in the Choir and was a member of the Senior Fellowship. She was a creative and artistic person, and fund joy in her music, friends, and her faith. After her retirement, she particularly enjoyed her daily visits to Sunrise Cafe', which was her favorite place to eat and enjoy the company of friends. She was a warm, loving person, who will be missed by many.
Predeceased by both parents, her Grandmother, and her Husband, she is survived by first cousins, Jackie Lambert, Candy Hausenfluck and Peggy Sue Stickley, all of Woodstock, and Jerry C. Spence, of Rock Hall, Maryland.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Dellinger Funeral Homes in Woodstock, with Pastor Ken Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Massanutten Cemetery in Woodstock. Those who wish to attend are asked to wear face coverings and observe the social distancing guidelines. The funeral home will be open Saturday and Sunday from 9-5. Pallbearers will be Larry Stickley, Kenny Hausenfluck, and Jesse Clark.
The family wishes to thank all the members of the Church, the staff at Memory Lane, Skyline Terrace, and a special thanks to Martin Emswiller, Elena Fors, and the many friends who visited her over the years, and her Christian Family at Grace Baptist Church.
