November 28, 1952 - December 12, 2020
Our community prematurely lost a pillar of faith and hope on Saturday, December 12, 2020, when Mary Anne Eckard Beeton, 68, of Woodstock, gracefully and naturally fought a year-long battle with ALS and passed away at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester. Mary Anne Luck was born on November 28, 1952 and was the daughter of the late Calvin and Dorothy Turner Luck. After nursing both of her parents through untimely deaths, while attending nursing school at the University of Virginia, the number of individuals this loving woman inspired and helped during her extensive nursing career is unknown. Accompanying her nursing endeavors, Mary Anne led and participated in numerous church and outreach programs. Above any earthly education or accomplishment, she had an unending faith in Jesus Christ, and her light shined through to countless people. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Hubert B. Eckard, Jr, and proceeded to raise her three young daughters independently. Mary Anne is survived by her husband, John Beeton, her three daughters; Cassandra Eckard George, Cindy Eckard, and Christina Eckard Miller, their husbands and children, along with four stepchildren; Rene Feliciano, Christine Weaver, Lori Beeton, and Joseph Beeton; as well as many friends in her church group, and community. Her beacon of light will shine on in the people she encountered, as well as the lives she has yet to touch through her legacy. Please take part in sharing and remembering her life on Family night, which will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 6-8 P.M. at Grace Baptist Church in Woodstock, and services, which will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Grace Baptist Church. Pastor Kenneth Sparks will officiate. Pall bearers will be Brandon George, Justin Miller, Michael Wakefield, Landon George, Logan George, and Nathan Schemansky. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Blue Ridge Hospice 333 West Cork Street Winchester, Virginia 22601.
