Nelson "Big Dog" "Big Man" Minter, 46 of Woodstock passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at his home. Services will be Monday, November 19, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Pastor Dale Bennett will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens. Refreshments will follow the graveside service at Antioch Church of the Brethren.
Nelson was born November 5, 1972 in Washington DC. He is the son of Donald Minter and Carolyn Thorne Slavin. He attended and graduated from Gwynn Park High School in Maryland. He was an honor student and participated in the ROTC program. Nelson worked at the LKQ, Keystone Automotive as a sales representative and delivery driver. Nelson enjoyed karaoke, fishing, bowling, ice hockey, watching sports and being outdoors. Nelson had a love for animals and spending time with his family and friends. He was a selfless, caring, funny, loveable man who would do anything and everything to help anyone. Everyone who knew him was blessed by this wonderful man.
Including his parents, Nelson is also survived by his wife, Rita Minter; a brother Wes Minter and his wife; 3 nieces, Shannon White and her husband, Emily Minter and Myla Hoffman; 2 nephews, Marek Hoffman and Alex Minter; 2 great nieces, aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be, Webb Sharp, Henry Hund, Wes Minter, Mark Hunt, Christopher Coyne and Charles Scott.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
