Rosalie Sellers Obituary
Rosalie Kathleen Foltz Sellers, 100, of New Market, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 14, 2018, at Shenandoah Place in New Market. She was born Oct. 22, 1918, in Tenth Legion and was the oldest child of the late Emmett and Rena Thomas Foltz.
Mrs. Sellers was a 1936 graduate of Broadway High School. She worked for 21 years in the New Market High School cafeteria and was an active member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ at Tenth Legion.
On April 9, 1939, she married E. Driver Sellers, son of Robert and Bessie Driver Sellers, who passed away Feb. 6, 2005.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Eugene Sellers of Timberville and Jeryl Leon Sellers and his wife, Fay, of Timberville; a sister, Marjorie Whitmore of Danville; a brother, Thomas Foltz of New Market; four grandchildren, Lisa Shifflett and husband, Andy, Dana Harlow and husband, Vince, Tina Tynan and husband, Jimmy, and Natalie Sellers; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren
She was predeceased by a sister, Frances Foltz, and a brother, Clark Foltz.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in New Market followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem UCC Church at Tenth Legion. The Rev. Robert Edwards will officiate at both services with the assistance of the Rev. Barbara Rhodes.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 this evening at Theis Funeral Chapel in New Market. The casket will remain closed.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Stone Church Historical Preservation, 11923 N. Valley Pike, Broadway, VA 22815.
