Scott Alexander Cunius died from Covid-19 on May 27, 2021, in Winchester, VA.
A joint service will be held with his mom, who died the same week of Covid-19, at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church in Mt. Jackson, VA, on July 10, 2021, at 1 p.m.
Scott was born on January 20, 1964, in Fairfax, VA, the son of William and Carol Cunius, who both worked for the CIA. He was a 1982 graduate of James Madison High School in Vienna, VA, where he excelled on both the football and tennis teams. Later, he was a ski instructor at Bryce Mountain for many years, and enjoyed summers at Silver Lake, NY.
Scott worked for the CIA1980s and 1990s and was a natural born salesman who had the gift of gab. He managed several cigar stores over the years. Before his passing, he helped promote sustainable energy through his work in the solar industry.
Scott was a follower of Jesus Christ and volunteered at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. Faith, family, and country mattered most to him.
Scott is survived by his children: Hannah Cunius Capra, Kate Cunius, William Cunius; a fiancée, Carisa Majesky; a sister, Cynthia Newberry; a nephew, Jonathan Newberry, and two grandchildren: John and Charlotte Cunius.
