Charles Roy Spiker, 94, of Woodstock, VA and Ocean City, MD passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Somerset Gardens in Princess Anne, MD. The funeral will be held Wednesday, May 12 at 10:00 AM at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock, VA. Reverend Wendell Schurtz will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock, VA.
Mr. Spiker was born April 18, 1916 in Strasburg, VA son of the late Charles S. and Mary Elizabeth Hottel Spiker. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He drove streetcars for D.C. Transit Company and was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Walnut Springs Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gladys Rebecca Myers Spiker; four brothers, Preston Spiker, Harry Spiker, Floyd Spiker and Kenneth Spiker and two sisters, Robie Wymer and Bethel Putman.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Mary Pantos and her husband, Duke of Ocean City, MD; two sisters, Irene Orndorff and Phenie Russell both of Strasburg,VA; brother, Boyd Spiker and his wife, Naomi of Tooele, UT; two granddaughters, Angela Gibble and her husband, Steve and Patti Mastrogiacomo and her husband, John all of Whitehouse Station, NJ and four great granddaughters, Jaimie Mastrogiacomo, Mary Pat Gibble, Carly Mastrogiacomo and Rebecca Gibble.
Pallbearers will be Duke Pantos, Angela and Steve Gibble, Patti and John Mastrogiacomo and Steve Stultz.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 11 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
