Everett Harold Burner, 86 of Edinburg passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 10,2021. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at First Baptist Church. Pastors Doug Frazier, Paul Campbell and Steve Beuchling will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Forge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Saturday at Dellinger Funeral Homes, Mt. Jackson
Everett was born on March 27, 1935 and was the son of the late Asa and Effie Nicholson Burner. In the years of 1953-1954 he played baseball for the Edinburg-Woodstock league. Later in the year of 1954-1957 he served in the Army. He served in the 24th Infantry in Korea while fighting in the Korean War as a Corporal of his infantry. Everett was ordained into the ministry of the Lord's work. Everett and Catherine Burner along with Wanda and Buddy Morgan and their son Todd Morgan were the Founders of the Lord's Chapel Church in 1979. Reverend Everett Burner pastored The Lord's Chapel in Edinburg for 34 years before retiring. Everett became a young widower at the age of 28 and four years later it brought him to the love of his life, Catherine Dudley. She loved the Lord and lead him to Christ where they lived 47 years full of love. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha Jean Burner and his second wife, Catherine Burner. He was also preceded by a daughter, Eugenia Biller, a sister, Thelma Wolverton and 4 brothers, Irvin, Beverly, Carroll, and Leo Burner.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Diane Sibert (Gerald) of Mt. Jackson, Teresa Orndorff (Charles) of Strasburg and Cathy Dempsey of Alabama; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren on the way; a sister, Jo Ann Dellinger of Woodstock and a son in law, Gary Biller.
Pallbearers will be Eric Fadely, Dustin Davis, Lee Stoneburner, Tim Lightcap, John McInteer, and Dwayne Herald.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Pingley, and Ronnie Tarkett.
