Gerald Peer Obituary

Gerald Odell Peer, 75 of Maurertown passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Blue Ridge Hospice. A Graveside Service with military honors will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, in Sugar Hill Cemetery. Pastor Wayne Racey will officiate. The family will receive friends and family the night before at Gerald's home from 6-8pm.
Gerald was born on May 7, 1946 and was the son of the late Roy Lee Peer and the late Joycie Mae Grandstaff Peer Wilkins. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Lee Peer.
Gerald is survived by 2 daughters, Lesa Moomaw and husband Steve, and Tina Drummond and husband David: 5 grandchildren, Robert (Teresa) and Tyler (Amy) Drummond, Kimberly Allison (William), Hayley Moomaw (Richard Dau) and Andrew Moomaw, also 7 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street Winchester, Virginia 22601, or a charity of choice.
