November 20, 1946 ~ December 1, 2023 (age 77) 77 Years Old
The sun set on December 1, 2023, with the passing of Jane Towne Tesh. In her final days, she was surrounded by her loving family as they celebrated her 77th birthday in Woodstock, VA. She was welcomed into heaven with a celebration held by her father James Thompson Towne, mother Bettina Loheed Towne Moore, John Barden Moore, daughter Laura and friends who had passed before her.
The sun rose on November 20, 1946, in Darien, Connecticut. She studied in Paris, lived in Manhattan after college, and later found her way to Northern Virginia along with the opportunity to live in Virginia Beach and London while raising her family.
Jane is survived by her husband, John Michael Tesh; siblings, Mary Towne Doten (husband Stanley), James Thompson Towne Jr. (wife Susan); her children Joseph Scott Martin (Fiancé Dana Kathleen McLaughlin), Lindsay Anne Weissbratten (husband Jarret R.), Lauren Tesh Hotaki (husband Ahmad), and John Michael Tesh.
She cherished her grandchildren, Matthew Loheed Martin, Ian Michael Martin, Caroline Anne McLaughlin, Meghan Kathleen McLaughlin, Madeleine Sydney Weissbratten, Tobias Roy Weissbratten, Elias William Hotaki and Genevieve Rose Hotaki.
Jane Towne Tesh's presence illuminated the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her immense generosity touched many and her radiance lit up every room she entered. She will be remembered not only for her deep love for her family but also for her warm and welcoming spirit, her incredible strength, her immense creativity and carefree spirit and her ability to make every moment special.
A memorial service to celebrate Jane's life will be held in the future at Cool Springs Natural Cemetery in Berryville, Virginia. A celebration of life will be planned for this coming spring.
