Marilyn Robinson Obituary

Marilyn McGhee Robinson of Woodstock died July 6 at Greenfield Senior Living in Woodstock. She was 90. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.

Mrs. Robinson was born on March 28, 1920, in Akron, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late George R. McGhee and Josephine E. Matlack McGhee.

She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in elementary education from Radford College, which was then a division of Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

She married Woodrow Wilson Robinson on November 26, 1942. He died on June 17, 1994. She taught for 25 years in the public school system, including 24 years in Frederick County and one year at the W. W. Robinson Elementary School in Shenandoah County.

She was a member of the Woodstock Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon, an elder, and president of the Presbyterian Women. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gammi and the Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Jean Robinson Mansmann of Wayne, Pa. and Barbara Robinson Cohen of Wilmington. NC She is also survived by four grandsons and one granddaughter.

Burial will be at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion, Va. on July 10 at 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on July 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodstock Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. David Howard, pastor of the Strasburg Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial gifts be made to the Building Fund of Woodstock Presbyterian Church, 142 East Court Street, Woodstock, VA 22664.
