Mary Short Obituary

Mary Lou Short, 86, of Woodstock, VA passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 21 from 1-4 p.m. at the family residence. Private burial will be in Quantico National Cemetery. Mrs. Short was born January 6, 1929 in Moundsville, WVA, daughter of the late Curtis and Ethel Blake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery D. "Arkie" Short.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Sue Freeman and husband Curt of Orange Park, FL. and Vicki Lynn Thompson of Woodstock; five grandchildren, Aaron Krasting, Karie Thurston, Stephanie Martinez-Ruckman, Jennifer Goostree and Bradley Martinez and eight great grandchildren, Michael Krasting, Tyler Krasting, Christopher Krasting, Blake Wilkinson, Campbell Ruckman, Kaylee Martinez, Avery Ruckman and Dylan Wilkinson and "LaVaughn Cooper - beloved mother-figure".

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
