Stoney Lee Spitler

Stoney Spitler, age 66 of Mount Jackson, VA, died in his home with his family early Thursday April 11, 2024. Stoney was a beloved father, husband, and uncle.

Stoney was born in Harrisonburg, VA on April 23, 1957, to Gordon and Betty Spitler.

He attended Stonewall Jackson High School where he enjoyed being on the cross-country team.

Stoney had a deep love for nature and enjoyed spending most of his time outdoors. He could often be found hiking in Shenandoah National Park with his daughter. Stoney also had a passion for Jeeps and firearms which he shared with his daughter. When not enjoying time outdoors, Stoney could always be found with a crime novel in his hands.

Stoney was a hardworking, quiet, and private man. The people he was close with got to see his silly, fun-loving side. To know Stoney truly was to love him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Spitler and mother, Betty Spitler. He is survived by his wife, Janet Spitler, and daughter Kristin Spitler.
