In Loving Memory: Dr. William George MacDonald 

July 15, 1941 – November 8, 2023 

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Dr. Bill MacDonald, a devoted father, compassionate chiropractor, and faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.  He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of selflessness and service.  Bill’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.   

Bill was born to Stanley and Irma MacDonald on July 15, 1941, in San Diego, California.  He was a talented athlete who joined the United States Coast Guard (USCG) after graduating high school in Princeton, Illinois.  Bill played football and ran track and field for the USCG Academy, and proudly served his country protecting the waters. After his service, Bill’s calling took him to the National College of Chiropractic, graduating with honors.  He opened his first practice in Illinois before moving to the Shenandoah Valley in 1978, where he soon became a beloved chiropractor and caregiver in his community.  In his free time, he coached his children’s basketball and soccer teams.  He enjoyed serving and worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ, and watching his kids and grandchildren participate in sports.  Bill’s hands did the work of the Lord, healing and providing care for his many patients throughout the Shenandoah community during his 35 years in practice.  

Bill is survived by his former spouse, Charlotte, and their five children and their spouses and grandchildren, Mandy, and Mark Roller (Satchel, William, Ryan), Cully and Jessica MacDonald (Poppy, Georgia, Eleanor), Kara Good (Stella), Matt and Natalie MacDonald (Vivian, Evelyn) and Tim and Melissa MacDonald (Annabelle, Teddy). He is also survived by his sister, Carol and Dave Collins, and his brother, Bob, and Sue MacDonald, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill’s legacy of integrity, kindness and perseverance will forever resonate within each of their hearts.  

Please join Bill’s family to honor him at the Restoration Fellowship Church located at 2128 John Marshall Hwy, in Strasburg, VA in a celebration of his life.  Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 1st.
