Doris Louise Cook

October 10, 1931 - February 20, 2022

Doris Louise Cook of Edinburg passed away at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital on Sunday February 20, 2022, with family at her side. Doris was born in Harrisonburg VA on September 10, 1931. She was proud to be the daughter of the late Lena and Robert Ryman who adopted her as an infant and raised her in Mt. Jackson. Doris graduated from Triplett High School and worked as a store manager at local Highs stores. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gene Cook, whom she married on November 22, 1980. Doris is survived by her son, Ripley “Ricky” Click, Jr. and wife Karen, daughter, Pam Hawkins and husband Tommy; granddaughter, Angie Pool and husband Eric along with two great granddaughters, Allie and Taylor Pool. Doris had some dear friends who touched her life, especially Audrey Nicholson whom she considered a sister, Audrey’s son Rick and his wife Bobbie, and two very special neighbors, Nelson and Linda Borden. The family wishes to thank the 911 and First Responders who answered the call. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Rescue Squad of Woodstock, Conicville or your local Rescue Squad. Per Doris’s wishes, there will be no viewing. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022, in Mt. Jackson’s cemetery at 2:00 PM. Reverend Stephanie Heishman-Litten will officiate.
